The World of Alex and Alonzo
I’d been writing since I was in the 5th grade, but Alex and Alonzo was my first foray into erotica. I started writing these characters as a response to the one-dimensional portrayals of Black and Latino men that I would read in Black Inches (yes, I read the articles!). Those stories were clearly not written by Men of Color. When two black men have sex, they don’t comment on the skin tone of their partner. Every Latino is not a gangbanger, every Black Man a thug, every Asian a submissive bottom. I know that the men of color I met were not only intensely sexual beings, we were also complex emotional beings, and while it’s just porn, I knew we could to better. This is my attempt to be better.
